Jonathan Ridder is the founder of Team Ziggy. He has been building combat robots since 1995 and has competed at every Robot Wars and Battlebots event held in the US since then. Jonathan is the lead designer and builder at Team Ziggy.

Douglas Ridder began helping Jonathan, his brother, as a pit crew member at the first Battlebots competition in 1999. After working in the pits at several events, he began assisting in the design and building of robots in 2001.

Donald Ridder, Jonathan's father, is a mechanical engineer and helps in the building of the robots and works in the pits during competition.

Robert Ridder, another of Jonathan's brothers, assists in building robot components and during competition, helps in the pits.

Kareem Fawell provides pit support and also helps build the electrical systems of the robots.
